The kind of things we find
From our October 2026 audit research, re-verified against the live sites on 22 October 2026 (one business had partially fixed an issue since the original audit — the table reflects the current state). Businesses are shown anonymised — these are documented findings from public pages, not client testimonials, and the businesses have not been contacted.
| Business type | Location | What the evidence showed |
|---|---|---|
| Artificial-turf installer | Phoenix area, USA | The call-to-action widget's fallback label in the page source literally read “Request Lorem Epsom” — placeholder text left in production |
| Hair salon | Nashville, USA | A placeholder-style 555 phone number in the homepage FAQ, while the real number appeared elsewhere on the same page; the salon's award claim was stated two different ways |
| Electrical contractor | Bristol, UK | The header shows a phone number, but it isn't tap-to-call — the call link is disabled; the meta description runs past 300 characters (search engines show roughly 155) |
| Bakery | Columbus, USA | The meta description tag existed but was completely empty; three competing H1 headings; the bakery's vegan speciality never mentioned |
| Plumbing & heating firm | Manchester, UK | Homepage title was the all-caps legal company name; the meta description mentioned heating only — plumbing and emergency work invisible to searchers |
| Bakery & café | Leeds, UK | The only H1 heading was empty and wrapped the logo; the physical store never appeared in the title or meta description |
| Cleaning company | Birmingham, UK | FAQ content duplicated in the page source; “clear upfront pricing” claimed, but no prices published anywhere |
| Barbershop | Sheffield, UK | A full services list with zero prices shown; no phone number on the homepage; an “award-winning” claim with no award named |
| Home-cleaning service | Charlotte, USA | The homepage's only H1 was a seasonal promotion; no customer reviews shown despite reviews-led positioning |
| Plumbing company | Pearland, USA | Two identical H1 headings and a heavyweight homepage (467 KB of HTML) slowing first load |
An evidence-based process
Terms, limitations & honest boundaries
- Fixed prices: $30 (audit) and $60 (content improvement), in USD, agreed before work starts. No hidden fees.
- No outcome guarantees: we do not and cannot guarantee search rankings, traffic, leads, enquiries, or sales. Anyone who promises those is not being straight with you.
- Scope: audits cover up to 6 public pages; content work covers the items listed in the service description. Larger sites are quoted separately before any work.
- Public information only: we audit what anyone can see. We never ask for your passwords, hosting logins, or admin access.
- Accuracy: findings are observations of your public site on the date checked, each tied to recorded evidence. If we get a fact wrong, corrections are free.
- Revisions: audit includes factual corrections + 1 clarification round; content improvement includes 1 revision round.
- Payment: arranged individually before delivery via a mainstream payment provider; we will confirm the exact method in writing before you pay anything.
